Kaily Nguyen, is our Chapter President of The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at San Jose State University! She previously held positions of Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Careers last semester. She transferred from De Anza College in Fall 2017 and is currently a Senior majoring in Business Administration, concentrating in Human Resource Management, and anticipates to graduate in Spring 2019. She is a scholarship recipient of #SHRM18, SHRM’s 2018 Annual Conference and Exposition in Chicago, IL where she has had the privilege to attend for 4 days and connect with the SHRM Foundation, SHRM Executive Board, SHRM’s President/CEO Johnny C. Taylor JR., Fortune 500 HR Leaders, and over 22,000 HR Professional attendees from all over the world! She enjoys SHRM at SJSU’s workshops, company tours, and the buddy program; SHRM has helped her gain confidence, professionalism, connect with fellow student members and HR Professionals that also have a passion for Human Resources. In her free time, she likes spending time with her dog, baking macarons, and going on boba runs + food adventures with friends. She is so honored to be SHRM at SJSU’s Fall Chapter President and welcomes you to connect with her!

Greetings from Océane Brouard, our Executive Vice President ! She is a fourth-year international student studying Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management. After her transfer from her 2 year-college in Seattle, she decided to meet people in her field by joining the Society for Human Resources Management. This experience as a SHRM@SJSU member helped her gain further knowledge and understanding about the Human Resources roles in a company. Since fall 2016, she has developed her skills through the Resume Blast and Interview workshops as well as expanding her networking with the various company tours offered by SHRM. During the 2017’s spring semester, Océane decided to grow as an HR professional by joining the Case Competition team. This incredible experience bolstered her capacity to work on a concrete case with a team of students; and through research, work experience and knowledge her team came to possible solutions. As a returning officer, she hopes to be able to give as much as she got from her previous year with SHRM as a member. With this position in SHRM, Océane aspires to meet people and share point of views, to strengthen her networking and communications skills, and to efficiently respond to the members’ needs. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to wherever she can go, to experiment with new baking ideas and to learn about others’ culture. Océane wishes you a fantastic new semester!

Jasmine Te, is our Vice President of Operations! She transferred from Evergreen Valley College in Fall 2017 with an AS-T in Business Administration. She is currently a senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management and will be graduating in the Spring of 2019. She joined SHRM in the Spring of 2018 because she wanted to become more involved on campus, as well as make new connections ranging from students to professionals in the field. SHRM has definitely helped her become more proactive and passionate about HR. In her spare time she enjoys eating at new food places, as well as listening to BTS’ new album. She’s looking forward to making a difference in her first semester on the board and to meeting you all!

Allison Rufo is a Senior at San Jose State University. She majors in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. She will be graduating Fall of 2018. Allison joined SHRM in Spring of 2018 in hopes to build more connections within the HR industry at San Jose State. Since then, she was able to expand her network, gain some insights from the HR professionals in SHRM’s panels, build her resume through workshops, and create wonderful friendships with colleagues. SHRM being the first club since her 4 years at SJSU, she regrets not joining sooner. Allison applied for a position in SHRM in hopes to leave an impact in the school and inspire others just like how previous officers have inspired her. In her spare time, Allison loves to travel and find new places to eat! She looks forward to meeting every single members and interact with them!

Chelsea Parcero, is our Vice President of Membership! She is currently in her senior year expecting to graduate with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in HR, Spring of 2019. Prior to SJSU, Chelsea transferred from DeAnza College and joined SHRM to build connections with fellow students and professionals. Since then, the club has offered nothing but growth for her! The ability to network, lead and make meaningful connections has been her greatest achievements thus far. SHRM has allowed her to share her passion of HR with others and collaborate together. Her time with the club has been a vast learning experience and she enjoys engagement with others. Her hope for the semester is to create a sense of belonging for everyone at SHRM. Through her position, she hopes to encourage members to be actively involved and can’t wait to see what the semester holds!

Loi Tran, is our Vice President of Mentorship! Loi is a Senior at San Jose State University studying Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management expecting to graduate in Spring 2019. He transferred from Ohlone Community College in Fall 2017. Loi is also a recipient of the Stanley Winvick/AMD Human Resources Scholarship. He joined SHRM in Fall 2017 because of what SHRM offered to students. SHRM has helped him make new connections, build his resume, advance his interviewing skills, advance his leadership abilities, land an internship, and learn from HR professionals. He also values diversity and believes that it is important to be successful as you incorporate different perspectives. Additionally, Loi hopes to contribute by sharing his vast knowledge and experience to educate, create awareness, and ultimately drive the engagement of those around him. With this, Loi is best recognized for his authentic personality, his willingness to learn, and his ability to empower people to be their best selves. In his leisure, he enjoys bowling, trying new foods, snowboarding, and spending time with family and friends. He is also an avid sports fan and is loyal to the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers, and San Francisco Giants. As your VP of Communications David is a fellow HR major with a minor in communications. He earned is AA in Business Administration studying at De Anza Community college. Over the summer, David interned as an HR Generalist at OmniVision Technologies. He learned valuable skills such as empathic reasoning and social teamwork enhancement. As VP of communications David hopes to communicate the efforts and triumphs of every SHRM member and officer. David loves going rock climbing, surfing, playing video games, and traveling. He also really likes eating pizza. If you have any questions or concerns about SHRM please don't be afraid to reach out to David. He is always happy and excited to help out. David sees the bridge between a student and a professional one that can never be finished building, but together David hopes to build the best bridge together through SHRM.

Allen Luong, is our Vice President of Events! Allen Luong is a graduating senior at San Jose State University studying Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. SHRM has helped him grow as a individual by providing the tools to be successful. Through his position, he hopes to encourage students to be actively involved in their schools and communities. One of his biggest achievements is stepping outside his comfort zone and doing things that he thought he was incapable of doing. His goal this semester is to show students that giving back is important and to set an example for young individuals. In his free time, he likes to cook pasta, attend music festivals and travel.

Anmol Pannu, is our Vice President of Careers!
She is a senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management. She joined SHRM in Fall 2017 to build connections with fellow students and professionals. Anmol is the winner of the SHRM HR Case competition of Spring 2017. She participated in the mentorship program in Fall 2017 which benefited her tremendously. SHRM has helped her become a better professional through networking, resume, and mock interview workshops. She will collaborate with HR professionals to coordinate professional development workshops such as negotiating a job offer, resume, and mock interview and organize company tours for SHRM members. She hopes to develop a relationship with you and support your professional growth through her role!

Arelie Razo, is our Director of Affairs!

Arelie transferred from West Valley College in fall 2016 and will be graduating this Fall semester with her Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management. After completing a year at SJSU, Arelie decided to become an active SHRM member and in Spring 2018, Arelie became SHRM’s VP of Events. As a returning officer, she hopes to be able to bring more new ideas to the table as well as more members. Her exposure to SHRM has allowed her to expand her network, meet new friends, tour cool companies in the bay area and grow both personally and professionally. This semester she is ready to help change things up to be more diverse and inclusive. In her free time, Arelie enjoys Bachelor Mondays, going to concerts, taking naps with her dog Mia, watching the Warriors win more championships, eating Sushi, and traveling to new places to learn the various cultures and life perspectives.

Rick Partridge is an accomplished senior HR leader with demonstrated success in increasingly responsible roles across all areas of human resources.  His career spanned 25 years in a wide variety of HR roles at IBM, Georgia-Pacific, BEA Systems, and Second Harvest Food Bank. He has taught in the HRM concentration since Fall, 2006, and serves as a faculty advisor to the SHRM@SJSU student club. Additionally, he provides a variety of career services to students. He has a BS from Vanderbilt University and M. Ed. and Ed. S (one-year post Masters) degrees from the University of Florida. He holds certifications in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Professional Qualifying Program, Corporate Coach University, and Achieve Global Leadership Skills Training
