Greetings from Océane Brouard, our Executive Vice President ! She is a fourth-year international student studying Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management. After her transfer from her 2 year-college in Seattle, she decided to meet people in her field by joining the Society for Human Resources Management. This experience as a SHRM@SJSU member helped her gain further knowledge and understanding about the Human Resources roles in a company. Since fall 2016, she has developed her skills through the Resume Blast and Interview workshops as well as expanding her networking with the various company tours offered by SHRM. During the 2017’s spring semester, Océane decided to grow as an HR professional by joining the Case Competition team. This incredible experience bolstered her capacity to work on a concrete case with a team of students; and through research, work experience and knowledge her team came to possible solutions. As a returning officer, she hopes to be able to give as much as she got from her previous year with SHRM as a member. With this position in SHRM, Océane aspires to meet people and share point of views, to strengthen her networking and communications skills, and to efficiently respond to the members’ needs. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to wherever she can go, to experiment with new baking ideas and to learn about others’ culture. Océane wishes you a fantastic new semester!
