The following (9) positions are available for Spring 2017:


  • President
    • Ensure SHRM@SJSU operates smoothly
    • Plan and organize workshops and events
    • Manage and coordinate officer meetings
    • Work with VP of Finance to maintain funds and budget
    • Arrange and organize the HRM department graduation ceremony
    • Complete the Merit Award Workbook (as part of the Executive Board)


  • Executive Vice President
    • Filling in for President
    • Act as a liaison with NCHRA
    • Coordinate the Buddy Program
    • Work with President to identify workshops and events
    • Organize the HRM department graduation ceremony
    • Complete the Merit Award Workbook (as part of the Executive Board)
  • Vice President of Finance
    • Responsible for maintaining finances of SHRM at SJSU
    • Identify and implement fundraising opportunities
    • Establish and manage relationships with sponsors
    • Submit the Associated Students Funding Request 
    • Record revenues and expenses to determine budget
    • Work on the Merit Award Workbook (as part of the Executive Board)


  • Vice President of Operations
    • Update website content and calendar
    • Act as liaison between members and officers
    • Take meeting minutes
    • Assist with event set-up 
    • Complete the SHRM Merit Award Workbook (as part of the Executive Board)
  • Vice President of Membership
    • Responsible for recruiting new members
    • Manage rush recruitment table and classroom announcements
    • Design and update membership packages and applications
    • Process all memberships through NCHRA and SHRM
    • Maintain accurate and current records of members
    • Coordinate with treasurer to follow up on payment of dues
    • Manage and execute alumni networking event


  • Vice President of Careers
    • Responsible for planning company tours for SHRM members
    • Coordinate the Resume Blast workshop
    • Communicate job, internship, and scholarship opportunities
    • Write articles about past and upcoming events for monthly newsletter
       
  • Vice President of Communications
    • Create monthly newsletter about past and upcoming events
    • Responsible for providing members with information about events through email, flyers, and social media websites
    • Create flyers and post them on classroom bulletin boards, as well as organization's display case
    • Engage members frequently through social media with event reminders and relevant HR  content
    • Photoshop skills are a plus
       


  • Vice President of Events
    • Coordinate social and community service events monthly
    • Collaborate with Vice President of Communications to create flyers for upcoming events
    • Schedule email reminders to send to officers and members
    • Plan social and professional events, which typically involve casual networking mixers with other student organizations
  • Vice President of Mentorship
    • Update and distribute application materials to members
    • Recruit qualified mentors for the program
    • Match mentors to their respective mentees based on shared interests and career goals
    • Communicate frequently with mentors and mentees to assure program objectives are met
